Each week I’ll have anything new to master or a straightforward project to make.

(There it’s still typical articles and guides blended in too.) Most of the discussion and tasks calls for using sewing machines. There would have been a several give sewing articles, but I’ll be focusing mainly on sewing with a machine. You’ll know it’s the main Sewing 101 Collection since you’ll see this great logo. (above)

Today I’ll begin the line talking about something very standard:

Getting to know your sewing machine.
Every sewing unit differs, however the same.

Think of it such as a car. You may get an applied one, an vintage one, your simple design, the the surface of the point luxury product or something among – perfect for the family. Each of them get you from A to T (I mean sew), but there is also different characteristics, top speeds, and feel different as you sew with them. And sure, being a vehicle, certain machines are built much better than others.

You don’t require a elegant machine to start. Anything easy will work. Understand what you need and you are able to always upgrade later.

The two (working) sewing devices I’ve within my home are extremely basic. A Singer Assurance 7470 and a Janome Hi Pet machine (which goes to my six year old). Equally get the job performed, but have completely different feels. I really do all of my sewing on the Singer — also the quilting.

My performer is not a the the top of point unit, but it is really nice. It performs great and has most of the functions I need.
